Blast Motion turns your ordinary baseball bat into a smart bat. The accurate Swing Analyzer (sensor) provides real–time feedback by simply attaching to the knob of any bat. The information is automatically captured and sent to a smart phone app (iOS and Android compatible).
Easy-to-understand swing metrics allow you to analyze and improve timing, attack angle, and bat speed. Plus, in-app training videos provide tips, drills, and actionable insights to improve your swing. The proprietary Smart Video Capture automatically creates videos and highlights to track metrics over time to identify trends for improvement. (The app's feedback helps improve the efficacy of those garage/basement tee sessions in the middle of winter!)

Swing Metric Capture & Tracking
Blast Motion captures key metrics from the start of the swing (launch) to contact. These data points are grouped into three summary scores (Plane, Connection, and Rotation) for quick analysis.
Clicking into a summary score will reveal the metrics that make up the category.
For example: the Rotation score is made up of bat speed, rotational acceleration, and power (in Kw) metrics
Built-in Training Library
Notice your player struggling to achieve high scores on a particular metric? Blast Motion offers a professionally-curated training library to help improve those scores!
Gamify your Training
The Blast Motion app contains fun and challenging games to help players spice up their training routine. These might motivate your young athlete to train on their own!
For Coaches
A Blast Motion Coach Account allow you to keep tabs on your players both during and outside of team activities. The Blast Connect portal displays a summary of your teams hitting metrics, the ability to view metrics by player, analyze swing video on the go (iOS only), track progress over time, create and assign workout to your players, and much more!
Note: only the iOS app allows coaches to log data on behalf of their players!

What is Blast Motion?
- Blast Motion is a sensor that attaches to the knob of any bat. It captures a variety of metrics that allow hitters to bridge the feel vs real gap to understand how the body is moving throughout their swing.
What is the difference between the "Player Account only" and the "Player Account + Blast Motion sensor" options?
- The "Player Account only" option just includes the 1 year subscription to Blast Motion Premium Services. This premium account unlocks the ability to capture all swing metrics, cloud storage for metrics & video, and player/coach messaging. Basically all the functionality that makes Blast Motion awesome!
This option is for those that already have a Blast Motion Swing Analyzer sensor.
- The "Player Account + Blast Motion sensor" package includes the account described above along with the Blast Motion sensor that's needed to capture all those awesome metrics. The best part? - The sensors is yours to keep forever!
This option is best for those who are completely new to Blast Motion and need a sensor to get started.
Why do the pricing options look different than the Blast Motion website?
The Illinois Hawks have secured team pricing with Blast Motion for the 2023/24 season. This means we are able to offer this impactful product at a significant cost savings to you, especially if you are a first-time user! For example, a Blast Motion Swing Analyzer sensor (the type that's compatible with coach accounts) retails for $149.95. Since the sensor only includes a 30-day free trial of the premium player account, you would have to spend another $59.95 for a 1 year premium subscription.
The Illinois Hawks are able to offer you this package (Swing Analyzer + 1 Year Premium Subscription) for $155 (instead of $209.90 retail)!
Our Illinois Hawks team/coach is subsidizing our participation using team funds. How should I register?
If your team/coach is using team funds to subsidize your participation in the Blast Motion program, they will have a unique team discount code issued to them. Please contact your coach for this code and use it at checkout.
